  4. If you are looking for your own website we can do that too. Our Expert and Master subscriptions include your own website in addition to the New Art Gallery community presence. At New Art Gallery we specialise in making websites for creative people. We're good at this because we are creative people ourselves - with the added benefit of also being experienced web designers. And we firmly believe that artists should be fairly rewarded for their work. Creating a website is a highlyeffective way to market your work, but may people feel daunted and intimidated by making it themselves, never mind maintaining it! We make it easy so that you can concentrate on doing what you do best - being creative. We'll work closely with you to show your work in the best possible light, make it simple for people to buy and allow you whatever control and input that suits you best. And we'll make sure that we protect both yourselves and your customers throughout every transaction and experience. You can choose between three levels of subscription to suit your pocket and the degree of day-to-day involvement you want to have. You can leave everything up to us, or maintain your site yourself. Or somewhere in-between. We also market New Art Gallery so that your work will reach a larger and larger audience who are interested in art, photography and craftwork.
  5. New Art Gallery has been evolving over the last two months - creating and developing our website and social media platforms and we already have several Gallery Member Creatives who have joined us with their shops up and running. We will actively market New Art Gallery via social and traditional media so that your work reaches that ever-growing audience who are enthusiastic about investing in art, photography and craftwork. And that’s included in your membership. The Community consists of three main parts: THE ON-LINE GALLERY: Is where selected work from our members is regularly showcased and highlighted. THE HUB: Is a lively community of like-minded people who share an enthusiasm for making, buying & appreciating art, photography and craftwork. David Ruaux

David Ruaux As a retired professional photographer and gallery owner, David has combined his interest in photography & art with website design. In the early days of the internet this provided the basis of his desire to learn about the internet and websites. After taking on the website management of The Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, David could see that many artist & photographers were more interested in following their own passion in photography & art than working out how to market themselves online & needed professional help & support to bring their work to the attention of the public. Realising that such a huge resource of creative talent in the UK was going unnoticed, David decided to provide an accessible solution to this need through New Art Gallery. Here the opportunity to showcase and sell their work – together with support – is now offered to all our artists, photographers and crafters.

    Neil Baglow

Neil Baglow trained at Birmingham College of Art & Design and subsequently at the Manchester Polytechnic School of Graphic Design, winning the Letraset Graphic Design Award in his final year. He worked as an Art Director in various London advertising agencies before setting up his own advertising agency in Leigh, Greater Manchester. The business moved to Salford where he became Creative Director and joint Managing Director. During his career he was responsible for commissioning a wide range of work from illustrators, graphic designers, photographers and film makers. In recent years he has put this experience to good use in his own paintings which include portraiture, a love of the Lancashire uplands and, in contrast, an exploration of the work of 17th century Dutch engravers. Neil’s latest commission is to paint a mural in Northern Cyprus
  13. So far this year we have had so little snowy weather...and that is one of the things that always persuades me to pick my camera out of it's box, wipe off the cobwebs and take a trip to search out something to capture. Nothing so far this year but the last week of January and first week of February last year were especially good. This gallery is a selection from my trips out to enjoy the exceptional conditions of plenty snow, frost and beautiful blue skies. I varied between manual, shutter and aperture exposure settings and auto/manual focusing depending on what I was doing. It is great to get used to using them and be able to switch without really thinking about it, especially when the conditions are demanding. The weather was magical
  14. Have you ever wanted to move off the Auto settings on your camera? …and learn how to use the manual exposure settings to get the best pictures for any given set of conditions. I know it can be a lot to understand and get to grips well member Stephen Knowles now runs a three hour, one to one class to meet this need and really get you started on the path to improving your camera technique. On Auto setting the camera sets almost everything and is even responsible for deciding how to treat the raw image information. Often, but not always, it will give an acceptable result but it will never give the best your kit is capable of producing. And the auto setting will throw away the information it does not use to make the finished file – gone forever! In my opinion, the most damaging aspect of using the auto setting all the time is the fact that you will not learn how, or why and when, to use the manual settings. This is where Stephen Knowles’ course really comes in. He will explain how the settings work, how and why you should use them and how to make the most of your camera’s capability. And it’s all in the wonderful setting of Ingleton! If you want to tie it in with a short stay in Ingleton, Stephen and his wife Sue run their guest house (Harling House) right on the edge of Ingleton village. They are superb hosts and will make your stay relaxing and comfortable with first hand knowledge of everything happening around the area. This is what Stephen offers: 3 Hours at your pace, an enjoyable way to learn, helping you to get the most out of your camera and improve your skills. 1 to 1 exclusive session. A friendly approach, geared to your requirements and interest. Get in touch to arrange your place, normally running on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Call 015242 42113 or email sknowlesphotos@aol.com for more details. Cost is £90. Secure payment can be made by debit/credit card, Paypal or Bank Transfer. I will contact you to discuss your specific learning requirements and interest, so that I can plan your bespoke tutorial. Please bring with you: Your DSLR camera and bag, battery and spare, memory card and tripod (if you have one), good footwear and dress for the changeable weather. Use the contact info above or from his gallery (Stephen Knowles Photography) on this website where you can also browse some of his photographic work.

    Des barr

Des Barr ' 'My father bought me a camera for my 21st birthday and that was the start of my hobby. I am a silver surfer now, my passion is landscape photography which I still love to do when the opportunity arises. I am not quite as mobile now so I find myself taking more pictures of flowers and trees.'
